I realized this morning in my PEMS writing that while I wrote something about "me" in my Emotional, I was actually describing the condition of my Mental and Emotional states of being. When things are good, my mental and emotional states are calm and available. When things are not going well, my Mental and Emotional are in conflict, and my experience is that things are happening to ME. Me Me Me. Pems has helped me more than I realize. Even a discovery like this improves my ability to be in greater control of my relationship with the world around me. Phoenix ![]() A clear sign of Mental and Emotional breakdown in some way. Ever wonder how people make big changes in their lives? Big changes are often brought about by challenging times, when something no longer works in a person's life. Car accidents, illness, divorce, financial loss. All of these can be catalysts for change that forces change upon us. Another way we can change is to put our attention on those moments when we are inspired to remember our dreams. An intense feeling of renewed hope after seeing someone else succeed and hearing their story may inspire the same in you. It is those moments that we can ride upon and extend, holding that feeling of what it feels like to see a glimpse of a change we have touched into.
You can do anything you see someone else has accomplished. Don't be fooled into thinking differently. It is seizing the moment that will make that change begin. PEMS is a way of marking your progress and unifying the parts of your life that make for success so that you can validate your own growth and when necessary duplicate that same process again. Creating our lives to be the way we want it to be is a conscious process, one that we can learn to get better and better at. Eventually it becomes second nature to succeed at whatever we try. PEMS can help us become aware of what might be in the way of our success. Is it our Physical health, our Emotions, our Mental state, or even our Spirit that might be frustrated by limitation. The best bet for change is to remember that Now is the moment of Power and Change, when you see a window of hope, inspiration, and build a bridge with your thoughts and emotions to it, map a plan to accomplish that change and then embrace it with your heart and spirit. ![]() Create an Oasis for Spirit in order to ground with the Physical and your body. Take some time to be and do something enjoyable like having a meal in a calm space, enjoying a cup of tea, listening to music or nature, enjoying the sun and fresh air. Create a space that is first for experiencing your self. This Oasis is for you to feel yourself and the way you enjoy your life. Remember? It is particularly important when you think you may have forgotten how, when there is nothing left in your life that makes you feel good. Start by imagining it, then follow it in action as imagined, with Spirit as creator and director. Allow Spirit to vision and in your imagination walk through the feelings of enjoyment. By Spirit doing this it is communicating with the other aspects. Let the Physical,Emotional, Mental and Spiritual aspects bring the experience into reality. When you are having a hard time in your life these Oasis moments will help put things back into perspective. Hard experiences often make us disconnect from our bodies, resulting in a feeling that there is no space for us to feel ourselves or do anything we want to do like working all the time with no time to enjoy life. While still enjoying your Oasis moment, vision into the next one so that Spirit can look forward to being here in the physical. Spirit can feel very alone with its unlimited perspective. Create the Oasis for Spirit to stay connected and grounded with the body. Sing, play music, breathe deeply, exercise, express, Be Conscious! All the aspects-Physical, Emotional, Mental and Spiritual like these things. It is like there are four of you all enjoying the experience in harmony. Happy PEMS:) Ever feel like an onion? Start with the pretty tan color of the outer onion skin. It's dry and shiny protecting the inside layers and is often a very pleasing color. Could be yellow, white, red or purple. This outer layer could be analogized to the facade we show the world to distract the viewer from probing deeper into our contents. It is a way we set boundaries. Is it the real you? Well, it is just the beginning. This outer peel represents the Physical aspect in PEMS.
Next there is the often tougher layer that may have dried a little. This is the layer before we get to the moist and even interior. It is torn off and thrown into the compost or stock when cooking. Like wise when looking for the genuine self we go beyond this layer. This layer represents the Emotional layer in PEMS. Emotions can confuse the true self into feeling all kinds of things that are not the representative of consciousness. In PEMS the idea is to separate out each part and see what each layer is doing on its own. Once that is done we can see how each part effects the other. Next we have the juicy, wet fruit of the onion. This is what we have been waiting for. This is the layer that forms our experience, the part we create with. This layer represents the Mental aspect. Our thoughts form everything we focus on, create, believe whether for the better or worse. We reinforce unwanted patterns with unconscious programming and negative self talk. This aspect is very powerful and many of us don't realize it. Finally we reach the inner core of the onion, the place where the onion sprouts its self out of the ground. It is where the pungent oils that make us cry comes from. This layer is like Spirit in PEMS. It is your essential self where imagination and vision rule, where your deepest desires are felt in a layer of energy. It is where feelings like hair standing up on the back of your neck comes from, intuition, deep love. It is the most pungent part of who you are. This layer can go unnoticed in today's world that is so materially focused. In fact it isn't needed to exist in the modern world. All you need is the program and too conform but, is that really you? All these layers are potentially parts of your true expression. Learn about your expression and become more aware by separating out the parts and see how they effect each other. Then you can gain control and bring your expression into alignment with Spirit, Consciousness and the Source within. On this level we are all Onion,oh I meant One. Andromeda Past trauma is often the cause of over reacting to a situation in the present. First, is to identify when you are over reacting. Are you being triggered by words or emotions that are being aimed at you or are you projecting your own thoughts and feelings into the situation? Perhaps you left home this morning with unresolved emotions about your life and when you get to work everything there triggers your own questions about what you are doing with your life. It is nothing personal with any of the people at work. You may not want to work there anymore and nothing will make that better except quitting. Then you have to deal with not having a job. Then you are frustrated by why you didn't stay in college and get a degree so you would have a job that you liked etc. That is a big issue to deal with not the seeming little problem with someone at work who pisses you off. Some people have a problem with authority because of a parent telling them what to do when young and it brought up resistance. They didn't feel they were making up their own mind and will so they bring that into the present and feel that way toward anyone who tells them what to do. The prisons are full of them. Parents are supposed to guide and protect their children and that means telling them what they can and cannot do. Regardless of how imperfect your parents were, it might be time to realize they were doing their best to protect you and keep you safe. If they did harm to you, realize that you are now grown up and it is your job and responsibility to keep safe and learn what behavior is good for in your life. No matter what happens to you, you have a choice as to how you respond. You can end the reactions caused from past trauma. Realize current situations are triggering memories of something that made you feel the same way. The key is to figure out how you are feeling. This can be hard because unpleasant memories are often buried in the unconscious, filed under "too painful to deal with." If you can find the courage to look under that 'rock of denial' then you may be able to find the origin of what is triggering you. Most likely you are no longer a child so you are more equipped to deal with the past childhood memory. An adult has way more experience in coping with bullies, disappointment, unfairness and not getting one's way. You are an adult, responsible for yourself. You choose what happens to you and how you respond to what happens once you become more aware of your total experience. This is something that can be learned by observing the four aspects in PEMS and going deeper with time. When a person becomes aware, they are more able to choose their experience. Until that time one is at the mercy of reactionary patterns acting out from the unconscious. We all want to be happy and heal wounds from the past. Creating a safe space for your emotions to speak through writing will reveal what has been hiding causing you pain and interfering with your present situation. |
